We moved to Wantirna Vet Clinic in December of 2015 after our Winston was diagnosed with cancer. The staff at the clinic went above and beyond to create pathways for us that resulted in an extra 12 months of quality life for our beautiful boy.

My dog was taken by my mum to Wantirna Vet Clinic for his annual checkup. He has a thick coat and she had him shaved right down to the skin a few days prior to his appointment, for the summer hot weather. When I saw him a few days after this appointment, I noticed many cysts, some of them up to 6cm in diameter, on his body and legs. I was understandably concerned about these cysts, however my mum said that the vet didn't mention them. So I called the vet to complain, and they said that they would happily have another look at my dog. I asked whether this would be covered by the $274 bill that we were charged, and the woman on the phone became very defensive and angry. She said that it was our job to point out to the vet the symptoms. I said that we paid for an annual checkup and that the vet should have noticed these. She said that if the vet didn't notice the symptoms "for whatever reason" then we would have to pay for an additional consultation. I suggested that the reason was that they didn't do a good job. She became very angry and rudely terminated the conversation. I have been taking my dog to this vet for many years, but I will not be returning to this business ever again after it became very apparent that they are only interested in our money, and not in doing a good job or having good customer service. (Did I mention there was also a 45 minute wait after the appointment time?) My advice is that this business will take you for your money without care for your loved one, so if you're smart, you will go somewhere else.

We have been taking our dogs to Alison for more than 10 years. She is a very devoted vet who we obviously cares a lot for her "patients". Earlier this year we had to make the heartbreaking decision to put down our much-loved 17 year old pet. Alision, although away from work at the time, came in to personally see to the procedure. She was compassionate and caring and made the difficult task bearable. I am very grateful for Alison's compassion during that time.

Without the expertise and guidance of the staff we wouldn't have had these incredible extra months.

They did not profit at all from the referral to a specialist centre and infact made regular calls to see how Winston was going with his treatment outside of their care.

Although we have moved move away from the area, we continue to go back to Wantirna to see Alison when our other pet requires vaccinations etc.

Wantirna Veterinary Clinic staff are helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. They will go above and beyond for anyone. They will offer advice and really educate you on the best possible way to look after your pet. The staff always greet my dog "Beau" with lots of pats and are actually care about how he has been since last visit. I don't even live in Wantirna or necessarily close but I wouldn't go anywhere else, I don't think "Beau" would allow it to be honest. Keep up all the good work you do girls :).
